ILOILO City – A 20-year-old alleged drug courier was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Batad Viejo, Batad, Iloilo.
Alias “King”, a resident of Sitio Pinaypayan, Barangay Lumbia, Estancia town, was caught at 3:40 p.m. on October 2 after selling two grams of suspected shabu worth P13,600 to a poseur buyer, according to Police Captain John Predic Padilla, officer-in-charge of the Batad Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Police recovered a total of 400 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P2.7 million.
Padilla said the suspect was under surveillance since last month after his friend, alias “Jajan”, tagged him as his companion following the latter’s arrest.
The suspect reportedly sourced his drug supply in Estancia and distributed it in Batad and several neighboring towns, including parts of Capiz province “through the directives of his boss,” Padilla said.
The suspect was detained at the Batad MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
