CAPIZ — The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office 6 brought the National Reintegration Network (NRN) Caravan to the Capiz, giving overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families renewed hope and access to government support as they rebuild their lives back home.
Anchored on the theme “Balik Capiz, Balik Pag-asa: A Reintegration Caravan for OFWs,” the activity was held on October 15, at Robinsons Mall Roxas City. The event was spearheaded by DMW-6 in partnership with 15 national government agencies and local stakeholders, all working together to provide comprehensive reintegration services to returning OFWs.
The caravan featured various programs aimed at addressing the diverse needs of Balik-OFWs, including livelihood assistance, financial literacy, employment opportunities, skills training, business development, counseling, legal advice, and welfare support. Service desks were set up on-site, allowing beneficiaries to directly consult with representatives from national government agencies and partner institutions.
OFWs and their families from various towns of Capiz attended the caravan, reflecting their eagerness to start anew after years of working abroad. The initiative served as a one-stop venue for information, assistance, and empowerment—helping participants explore opportunities for self-sufficiency and sustainable livelihoods.
Through the NRN Caravan, the DMW reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that no returning OFW is left behind. The activity also highlighted the spirit of bayanihan, with government agencies joining hands to make reintegration services more accessible and meaningful for every Capizeño migrant worker coming home./PN
