ILOILO City – Cementing its reputation as one of the country’s rising investment hubs, Iloilo City has reclaimed the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (City Level 1B category) award from the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) for 2025 — a recognition that underscores the city’s consistent drive for ease of doing business and sustainable economic growth.
Mayor Raisa Treñas accepted the award alongside Velma Jane Lao, head of the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office, during the 51st Philippine Business Conference awarding ceremony held on October 21 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The PCCI cited Iloilo City for streamlining business processes, fostering strong partnerships with the private sector, and implementing policies that encourage urban resilience and inclusive growth.
Iloilo City has been a steady performer in the PCCI’s annual search for outstanding local governments — winning the same title in 2023 and ranking among the Top 5 finalists in 2024 — reflecting its consistent commitment to good governance and investor confidence.
Mayor Treñas said the award affirms the collaborative spirit of the local government and the business community.
“This recognition affirms our continuing efforts to make Iloilo City a more progressive and opportunity-rich place for businesses and investors,” she said.
She added that the city will continue to pursue policies that enhance economic dynamism and attract sustainable investments.
“This honor is not just for City Hall, but for the entire community working together for Iloilo’s progress,” Treñas said.
The Most Business-Friendly LGU Award is among the PCCI’s most prestigious distinctions, given to local governments that exemplify transparency, efficiency, and innovation in promoting business growth and competitiveness./PN
