BACOLOD City – A mother and her newborn are now safe and being cared for at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) after the woman gave birth on the sidewalk outside the hospital on October 23.
The incident went viral on social media after videos showed the woman delivering her baby along the hospital’s Lacson Street sidewalk.
In a public statement, CLMMRH confirmed that a precipitous delivery occurred in the hospital’s sidewalk area. Members of the Nursing Service and the Outpatient Department (OPD) immediately responded to assist the mother and her newborn.
“The patient was promptly brought into the hospital for appropriate medical care. Both mother and baby are now under close monitoring and are in stable condition under the care of our medical team,” the hospital said.
CLMMRH commended the swift, compassionate, and professional response of its personnel, whose presence of mind ensured the safety and welfare of both mother and child.
The hospital reiterated its commitment to providing timely, quality, and compassionate healthcare to all who seek its services.
