ILOILO – Police seized over P1 million worth of suspected shabu from two friends during a buy-bust operation conducted by the Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and Barotac Nuevo police station in Barangay Salihid on November 12.
The suspects, identified as aliases “Don-Don,” 43, a resident of the area, and “Love-Love,” 35, of Barangay Lagubang, Barotac Nuevo, were caught after selling a sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P6,500 in buy-bust money.
Authorities recovered a total of 156 grams of suspected shabu, composed of three small heat-sealed plastic sachets and two knot-tied plastic sachets, with an estimated market value of P1,060,800.
Records show that Don-Don had previously been imprisoned in 2021 for a similar drug offense but was released in 2024.
The suspects are now under police custody as charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165) are being prepared./PN
