PRO-6 arrests 72 fugitives in 15-day manhunt

ILOILO — A total of 72 wanted persons were apprehended in the entire Western Visayas during the 15-day manhunt operation.

Data from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) showed that of those captured from November 1 to 15, one was classified as a national most wanted man and eight others were among the region’s most wanted persons.

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) has the most number of arrests with 35, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with 15 arrests, and Capiz PPO with 12 arrests.

“The strategic manhunt involved coordinated efforts from various police units across the provinces and cities of Western Visayas, showcasing the commitment of PRO-6 to enhance public safety and uphold the rule of law,” PRO-6 said.

All suspects have been processed and turned over to the respective courts for appropriate legal proceedings.

PRO-6 director Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan lauded the efforts and professionalism exhibited by all participating units. He also emphasized the essential nature of community collaboration in creating a safer environment.

“The success of this operation reflects the steadfast dedication and professionalism of our personnel in ensuring that wanted individuals are brought to justice,” Ligan stated.

He added: “We also acknowledge the invaluable role of the public, whose timely information and cooperation were key to this achievement. I urge everyone to remain vigilant and continue partnering with us in this ongoing campaign for safer Western Visayas.”/PN
