ANTIQUE — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Antique has approved Supplemental Budget No. 6, allocating funds for the annual incentives of thousands of barangay-based frontline workers across the province.
Passed on Tuesday, December 9, the budget measure provides for the incentives of Child Development Workers (CDW), Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPO), Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), and Barangay Health Workers (BHW).
According to SP Member Karmila Rose Dimamay, chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Appropriations, the supplemental budget totals P44,366,000.
Despite the sizable allocation, Dimamay noted in a social media post that the amount remains insufficient to fully cover the incentives intended for all barangay workers. She said Gov. Paolo S. Javier is currently identifying additional funding sources to ensure the complete incentive package is delivered.
Under the program, CDWs are entitled to an annual incentive of P10,000, while BSPOs, BNS, and BHWs each receive P12,000.
Aside from barangay worker benefits, Supplemental Budget No. 6 also allocates funds for the medical allowances of provincial government employees and the additional wages of nurses assigned to the President Diosdado Macapagal District Hospital extension in Tobias Fornier.
The Provincial Government of Antique has yet to announce the schedule for the release of the incentives./PN
