ANTHONY Edwards delivered 33 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat the Miami Heat, 125-115, in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season on Saturday night (Monday in the Philippines) in Miami, Florida.
Naz Reid scored 29 points, with 20 coming after halftime, Julius Randle posted 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Rudy Gobert added a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds as the Timberwolves seized control early in the final period.
Minnesota turned a four-point lead into a commanding advantage by outscoring Miami 19-4 in the opening four and a half minutes of the fourth quarter, stretching the margin to 109-90 and never looking back.
The win came after Minnesota had dropped three of its previous four games, including a lopsided loss to Atlanta earlier in the week. The Timberwolves shot 54 percent from the field in the win.
Norman Powell led Miami with 21 points despite briefly leaving the game in the first quarter due to right leg soreness before returning in the second. Davion Mitchell and Nikola Jovic each scored 14 points, while Bam Adebayo and Andrew Wiggins finished with 12 apiece.
The Heat were dealt another setback when Jaime Jaquez Jr. exited midway through the second quarter after stepping on Randle’s foot and spraining his right ankle. He did not return.
Meanwhile, RJ Barrett scored a season-high 29 points, Brandon Ingram also had 29 and Toronto Raptors beat the Atlanta Hawks 134-117, in the first of back-to-back meetings between the teams.
Scottie Barnes converted 20 points and Immanuel Quickley had 15 for the Raptors. Sandro Mamukelashvili had 13 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high eight assists.
Barrett, who is still on minutes restriction, scored eight points as Toronto, up one through three quarters, opened the fourth with a 16-0 run to take a 123-106 lead with 7:18 remaining.
In other results, Philadelphia 76ers cruised to a dominant 130-119 victory over New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets prevailed over Chicago Bulls, 112-99, and Portland Trail Blazers edged San Antonio Spurs, 115-110./PN
