ANTIQUE – A 21-year-old man was arrested for the crime of arson Wednesday morning, January 7, in Barangay 4, San Jose de Buenavista town in this province.
Officers of the Sara Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the San Jose MPS, apprehended alias “Coycoy,” at around 11:52 a.m.
The suspect who was listed as the No. 5 most wanted person at the regional level was caught by virtue of a warrant of arrest for the crime of simple arson under Section 3(2) of Presidential Decree No. 1613, issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo on March 11, 2024.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Sara MPS for proper disposition and legal proceedings. The court recommended a P200,000 bail bond for his provisional liberty./PN
