ILOILO — Police arrested a 38-year-old man for illegal possession of firearms, ammunition and explosives in a raid in Miag-ao town on January 10.
Officers of the Miag-ao Municipal Police Station (MMPS) led by officer-in-charge Major Richard V. Lao seized from alias “Nonoy”, a resident of the town, one ARMSCOR caliber .45 pistol with three live rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade.
The operation was executed at around 12:34 through the strength of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).
The suspect was detained at Miag-ao MPS pending turnover to the court concerned./PN
