BACOLOD City — The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) is encouraging qualified and service-oriented individuals to pursue careers in law enforcement as it prepares to recruit more than 400 new police officers to strengthen security across the region.
The recruitment drive is part of the manpower expansion program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) aimed at enhancing police presence and improving public safety in the Negros Island Region.
Although the official recruitment quota and timeline have yet to be formally announced, projected figures based on last year’s recruitment data indicate that the region could open more than 400 positions for aspiring police officers.
Data from the previous recruitment cycle showed that PRO-NIR was allocated an attrition quota of 300 slots, consisting of 223 for male applicants and 77 for female applicants.
Meanwhile, the regular recruitment quota was set at 120 positions, including 88 slots for male applicants and 32 for female applicants.
Authorities clarified that these figures are for reference only and may serve as an indication of the potential number of available opportunities for qualified applicants.
The application and screening process will be handled by the Regional Recruitment and Selection Unit–Negros Island Region (RRSU-NIR), which is tasked with ensuring that recruitment remains transparent, merit-based, and aligned with PNP standards.
Applicants will undergo a comprehensive screening process, including documentation review, physical and medical examinations, and other required evaluations to determine their eligibility for police service.
In a press statement, PRO-NIR urged eligible applicants to take advantage of the opportunity to join an organization committed to protecting communities and upholding the rule of law.
