ILOILO City – Operatives from the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) apprehended two high-value individuals (HVIs) and seized approximately 225 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1,530,000.
Authorities identified the suspects as aliases “Brad,” 42, and “Toto/Shakira,” 31, both residents of the said barangay.
The buy-bust operation was carried out at around 8:33 p.m. on March 8, in Burgos Ville, Barangay San Isidro, La Paz district by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6), with support from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 6, Regional Intelligence Division 6, and Iloilo City Police Station 2.
Recovered from the suspects were one plastic sachet of suspected shabu (buy-bust item), 10 additional plastic sachets, and three knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu; buy-bust money; and drug-related paraphernalia.
The suspects are currently in police custody. They wil be charged for violations of Sections 5 and 11 (Article II) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
