ROXAS City — Prompt action by residents and police led to the arrest of two men trying to rob a local warehouse here early Tuesday morning, March 24.
The suspects, identified as Christian Zaldivar, 30, and John Mel Clarito, 23, both residents of Barangay Tiza, were apprehended by the Roxas City Police Station at a warehouse located in AV Fuentes Subdivision, Arnaldo Boulevard, Barangay Baybay in this city.
According to police, a concerned citizen alerted authorities at around 4:10 a.m. after noticing individuals forcibly entering the warehouse owned by Rolly Legarda, 40.
The Mantis Patrol Team of the Roxas City Police Station immediately responded to the scene. Upon arrival, officers caught Zaldivar and Clarito in the process of hauling several items out of the facility.
Recovered items from the suspects were multiple cases of Tanduay Rhum Dark and Vita Milk Choco Shake.
Police said the stolen merchandise was positively identified by the owner at the scene.
Both suspects are currently being held at the Roxas City Police Station, pending the filing of robbery charges.
