Over 1,000 jobs up for grabs at ‘Semana’ fair

ILOILO City — More than 1,000 job vacancies will be opened to jobseekers this Thursday, April 9, as at least 30 companies converge for the Semana sang Iloilo Job Fair at the Grand Social Hall of Casa Real de Iloilo – a major employment push amid the province’s 125th anniversary celebration.

Public Employment Service Office (PESO) – Iloilo manager Cynthia Dario said a wide range of employers — from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firms to hardware stores, bakeshops, pawnshops, manpower agencies, and even the Iloilo provincial government — have confirmed participation as of April 7, offering immediate hiring opportunities across multiple sectors.

The job fair will feature “easy to fill” and in-demand positions such as administrative staff, cashiers, drivers, helpers, marketing assistants, merchandisers, sales assistants, delivery helpers, customer support representatives, clerk receptionists, call center agents, and content moderators, among others.

Dario urged applicants to pre-register or walk in early to secure slots.

Aside from employment opportunities, government agencies – Department of Labor and Employment, ome Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund, and Philippine Statistics Authority – will also set up assistance desks during the event.

The job fair forms part of the weeklong activities of the Iloilo provincial government for the 125th Semana sang Iloilo, commemorating the establishment of the province’s civil government on April 11, 1901.

This year’s celebration carries the theme, “Iloilo@125: Pagsaulog sang Padayon nga Kauswagan, Kapug-an kag Kadalag-an”./PN
