DOLE-6 urges early sign-ups for May 1 job fair

ILOILO City – With thousands of vacancies up for grabs, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is calling on jobseekers across Western Visayas to register early and secure opportunities at the Labor Day Job Fair on May 1 at Robinsons Place Iloilo.

The job fair, a centerpiece of the 124th Labor Day celebration themed “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat! Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating,” is expected to draw a large turnout of applicants, prompting authorities to push for pre-registration to ease congestion and streamline hiring.

“We are officially inviting all jobseekers — whether you are a fresh grad, a seasoned professional, or looking for a career shift — to join the 2026 Labor Day Job Fair,” DOLE Region 6 stated.

Participating local companies are set to offer a wide range of positions, including accounting supervisor, IT (information technology) specialists, engineers, administrative officers, architects, food handlers, HR (human resource) assistants, payroll assistants, delivery drivers and helpers, chief technicians, room attendants, and bartenders, among others.

DOLE-6 advised interested applicants to pre-register online via http://www.dolero6.com/ or scan the QR code provided in official event materials to avoid long queues during the job fair.

Applicants are also reminded to bring essential documents such as updated resumes in multiple copies, a valid identification card, and to come prepared for on-the-spot interviews.

The agency further encouraged jobseekers to arrive early at the venue to maximize employment opportunities and avoid heavy crowds.

In addition to recruitment activities, DOLE-6 said help desks staffed by partner government agencies will be available on-site to provide assistance and other employment-related services./PN
