ILOILO City – Fair but warm weather punctuated by isolated rainshowers will continue across the Visayas until May 8, state weather bureau Pagasa said in its latest regional outlook.
The five-day forecast, issued Monday morning by Pagasa’s Visayas office, indicates that temperatures in the region will remain high, with daytime readings ranging from 25°C to 35°C, while nighttime temperatures will stay between 24°C and 31°C.
In Western Visayas, provinces such as Iloilo, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, and Guimaras are expected to experience a mix of sun and clouds, with occasional rainshowers or thunderstorms likely in the afternoon or evening. Temperatures in these areas could climb to as high as 34°C to 35°C by midweek.
Central Visayas, including Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, will have similar conditions, with daytime temperatures generally between 26°C and 33°C. Winds will be light to moderate, coming mostly from the east to northeast, while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
Negros Occidental may experience slightly warmer conditions, with temperatures reaching up to 33°C, accompanied by moderate northeasterly winds.
Meanwhile, Eastern Visayas provinces such as Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Biliran will also see partly cloudy skies with intermittent rainshowers, and temperatures ranging from 26°C to 34°C.
Pagasa noted that wind conditions across the Visayas will stay generally light to moderate throughout the week, shifting between easterly and northeasterly directions. Sea conditions are expected to remain manageable, with no significant threats to marine activities.
The weather bureau said no major weather system is expected to directly affect the Visayas during the period. However, localized thunderstorms triggered by daytime heat and prevailing easterlies may still bring short bursts of rain.
