ILOILO City – West Visayas State University posted a 100-percent passing rate in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), with four graduates also landing in the Top 10 nationwide rankings.
Results released by the Professional Regulation Commission showed that all 171 examinees from WVSU’s La Paz main campus passed the Secondary Level LET, earning the university the distinction as the No. 1 Top Performing School in the secondary program category.
The university likewise achieved a 100-percent passing rate in the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) program, with all 32 examinees successfully hurdling the Elementary Level licensure examination.
The achievement placed WVSU among the country’s best-performing teacher education institutions and highlighted Iloilo City’s continuing prominence in teacher education excellence.
Among the university’s standout performers were four graduates who secured spots in the national Top 10 rankings for the Secondary Level examination.
Nicole Alyana Esmeralda Macainan ranked Top 5 with a rating of 94.20 percent, while Vincent Crishtopher Alvar King placed Top 7 with 93.80 percent.
Keith Bryan Montenegro Jabaybay secured Top 8 with 93.60 percent, while Zhyra Joy Balitaosa-an Lorenzo landed at Top 10 with 93.20 percent.
WVSU said the achievement reflected the institution’s continuing commitment to quality education and professional excellence.
“These accomplishments reflect West Visayas State University’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, quality instruction, and the formation of highly competent and dedicated future educators,” WVSU wrote on Facebook.
University officials attributed the strong performance to rigorous academic standards, comprehensive training programs, and faculty members who prepared students for the highly competitive licensure examinations.
The March 2026 LET was conducted on March 15 in 41 testing centers nationwide.
PRC data showed that 45,001 out of 61,561 examinees passed the Secondary Level examination, while 18,376 out of 32,796 examinees passed the Elementary Level assessment./PN
