MANILA – The long-time rift between half-brothers, Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito may no longer be repaired.
There is “no use” having a “heart-to-heart talk” with elder brother Jinggoy, Ejercito told Panay News. “He has hatred written all over (him).”
Their sibling rivalry was worsened by local politics, admitted Ejercito, and became “too deep” and “complicated.”
Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada, their father, is frustrated, admitted Ejercito.
“I know it is hard for (our father). We tried (but) it’s hard to patch things up (with Jinggoy),” he added.
Ejercito does not mind not being okay with his half-brother.
“Sa Bible nga may Cain at Abel. But for as long as we are not violent, peaceful co-existence is better,” Ejercito said.
Sen. Estrada previously said he doubted Ejercito’s sincerity in reaching out to him.
He urged Ejercito to just “walk away” if he does not mean what he said.
Ejercito had said he felt sorry for his brother’s present predicament.
