ILOILO — Western Visayas recorded near-perfect compliance ratings in national audits assessing barangays’ peace and order and anti-drug initiatives, with several provinces posting almost flawless scores in a performance seen as a strong indicator of grassroots governance and community safety efforts.
The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) reported that Region 6 achieved a 99.76-percent compliance rate in the Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) Functionality Audit and a 98.32-percent compliance rate in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Functionality Audit under the Reprogrammed 2026 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays, based on Performance Year 2025.
The audits evaluate the functionality and effectiveness of barangay mechanisms tasked with maintaining peace and order and implementing anti-illegal drug programs in local communities.
According to the DILG, the region’s strong showing reflects the commitment of barangays, local officials, and partner stakeholders in promoting safe and orderly communities.
“These outstanding results in the 2026 BPOC and BADAC Functionality Audits (Performance Year 2025) under the Reprogrammed 2026 Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangays are a testament to the dedication, hard work, and collaboration of all barangays, local officials, and partner stakeholders. May this achievement inspire us to further strengthen our efforts in building communities that are peaceful, safe, orderly, and resilient for every Filipino,” it said in a statement.
For the BADAC Functionality Audit, Capiz posted the highest compliance rate at 99.79 percent, followed by Guimaras with 98.97 percent, Iloilo Province with 98.90 percent, Antique with 97.12 percent, Aklan with 96.64 percent, and Iloilo City with 95.56 percent.
In the BPOC Functionality Audit, Aklan, Capiz and Guimaras each achieved perfect 100-percent compliance. Iloilo Province registered 99.77 percent, Antique 99.49 percent, and Iloilo City 99.44 percent.
The Provincial Government of Antique welcomed the results, highlighting the province’s strong performance in both audits.
“With nearly all barangays achieving compliance in both the BADAC and BPOC audits, Antique continues to set a high benchmark in advancing effective local governance and sustaining programs that support safe, orderly, and resilient communities,” the provincial government said.
