BACOLOD City — A 46-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death inside his residence in Sitio Batilo, Barangay Po-ok, Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, on June 30, with police arresting his wife and her alleged lover in connection with the killing.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Ed,” sustained multiple stab wounds, including injuries to the neck, and was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
According to the Hinoba-an Municipal Police Station (MPS), authorities received a report at around 7:30 a.m. from a concerned citizen who discovered the victim’s body inside his home.
Initial investigation showed that the victim and his wife, identified by the alias “Jima,” 52, allegedly engaged in a heated argument around midnight over marital issues reportedly involving a third party.
Police said statements from the couple’s minor children indicated that the wife’s alleged paramour, identified only by the alias “Ge,” 56, allegedly entered the house during the altercation and stabbed the victim before fleeing with the victim’s wife.
Police launched follow-up operations that led to the arrest of both suspects.
Authorities also recovered a bolo believed to have been used in the killing from the possession of the male suspect.
The two suspects are now under police custody while investigators prepare the filing of appropriate criminal charges against them.
