Road Warriors romps to 3-0, San Miguel tops Macau Giant Pandas in PBA Governors’ Cup

MANILA — The NLEX Road Warriors continued their blistering start to the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup, cruising to their third straight victory with a commanding 135-100 demolition of the Titan Ultra Giant Risers on Tuesday night at the Ynares Center in Montalban, Rizal.

NLEX improved to a league-best 3-0 record after unleashing a balanced offensive attack led by Deschon Winston, who erupted for a game-high 30 points to go with nine rebounds and six assists. Robert Bolick Jr. earned Player of the Game honors after finishing with 29 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while import DeQuan Jones added 22 points. Kevin Alas chipped in 14 points.

The Road Warriors dictated the pace from the opening period, building a 30-24 advantage after the first quarter before stretching the lead to 61-43 at halftime. NLEX maintained control in the third quarter for a 97-82 cushion entering the final period.

Titan briefly threatened after trimming the deficit to 99-86 in the fourth quarter, but the Road Warriors responded with a decisive scoring run to pull away and complete the emphatic 35-point rout.

Tirell Brown II posted a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds for the Giant Risers, who remained winless at 0-3. Shej Roi Sumang added 18 points, while Joshua Munzon and John Bryan Sajonia contributed 17 and 11 points, respectively.

In the other game, San Miguel Beer overcame the absence of star center June Mar Fajardo as Rodney Brondial delivered a dominant all-around performance to power the Beermen to a 123-109 victory over the Macau Giant Pandas.

Brondial was named Player of the Game after producing a monster double-double of 10 points and 25 rebounds while also dishing out seven assists and collecting four steals.

George King paced San Miguel with 30 points, Jaymar Perez added 21, while Jericho Cruz scored 20. Jerrick Ahanmisi chipped in 16 points, with Celedonio Trollano and Moala Tautuaa contributing 11 and 10 points, respectively.

De’Vondre Perry led Macau with 25 points, while Damian Chongqui and Kobey Lam finished with 22 points each. Zhengxin Zhang added 10 points as the Giant Pandas slipped to 0-2./PN
