ILOILO City – Police arrested a 17-year-old minor following a break-in at a seafood restaurant in Barangay Sto. Niño Sur, Arevalo district early Friday morning, August 21.
Authorities identified the suspect as alias “Boyboy,” a resident of Tanza Esperanza, City Proper.
A witness identified as alias “Ben” said the suspect headed toward the shoreline shortly after the robbery to count the stolen cash, according to a DYRI RMN Iloilo report.
Barangay kagawad George Tiangana, who was on his way to go fishing, spotted the boy acting suspiciously along the coast and immediately confronted him.
With the help of local authorities, the suspect was apprehended, though three of his accomplices managed to evade arrest.
Police recovered the entire P10,000 in cash stolen from the restaurant and turned it back over to the owner.
As of this writing, the minor was under the custody of the Arevalo police station for proper disposition./PN
