Aklan’s most wanted falls

NABAS, Aklan – One of the most wanted persons in Aklan province was arrested in Brgy. Union, this municipality after three years of hiding from the police.

Roger Duminguet of Brgy. Union was cornered in his house around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

He faces a string of criminal charges, including robbery, usurpation of real property, grave coercion and malicious mischief.

He ranks No. 9 in the list of most wanted persons in the town of Malay, Aklan.

According to Senior Supt. Samuel Nacion, Duminguet had been hiding since three years ago after a land dispute with the Tolosa family.

He recently surfaced.

Duminguet reportedly entered the land without informing the Tolosa family and harvested some fruits.

In another story, one of the most wanted persons in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental was arrested yesterday in Brgy. Batuan, Dueñas, Iloilo.

Ricardo Labarete, 61, was collared around 7:30 a.m. by personnel of the Dueñas police station after they received information from the Sipalay police station that he was hiding in a house of a relative in Brgy. Batuan.

The police served his arrest warrant for the crime of murder issued by Judge Henry Arle of the Regional Trial Court Branch 6 in Kabankalan City.

Labarete is the No. 15 most wanted man in Sipalay.

He is now temporarily detained at the Dueñas police station. /PN
