ILOILO City – For four straight years, this city topped the list of skills registrants for job matching through the National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Region 6.
The recognition reflected the city government’s initiatives in providing access and delivering more employment opportunities to the Ilonggos, said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
The city government ranked No. 1 in NSRP implementation in Western Visayas, garnering 31.70 percent or 75,503 accomplishment rate vis-à-vis its targeted 238,211 working population from October 2010 to May 31, 2016.
Mabilog received a plaque and certificate of appreciation last month from DOLE acting regional director Salome Siaton. He was recognized for his consistent support to NSRP, a database on available manpower and their corresponding expertise.
Mabilog encouraged more jobseekers to register for skills matching to available work opportunities at Public Employment Service Office (PESO) at 5th floor of City Hall.
PESO chief Ma. Elena Benitez also received a certificate of recognition for her hard work, resourcefulness, determination and patience, which contributed to the exemplary performance of the city government in achieving the top-performing spot in the region. (Iloilo City PIO/PN)
