ILOILO City – A total of 145 new policemen have been admitted to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) to undergo a six-month field training program (FTP), after which they would be dispersed to different units within the region.

The 145 neophytes, divided into six police stations, came from the Regional Public Safety Battalion.

“These policemen will be trained in conducting investigation, crime solving, traffic management and patrolling,” said Supt. Gilbert Gorero, ICPO spokesperson.

On the other hand, ICPO director, Senior Supt. Ruperto Floro directed his police chiefs to orient these policemen and use them to improve police visibility in the city.

He also ordered his men to go over the list of drug personalities in their area, especially the new ones, so they could run after them.

ICPO records show that from the month of January to July this year, 152 drug personalities have been arrested.

“I urged my men to exert more efforts and seek the help of the community with regard to the whereabouts and activities of the drug pushers,” Floro said./PN
