ILOILO – The capitol has the funds for the proposed P2,000 cash bonus for each job hire and contractual employee of the provincial government, said Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr.
“If that (order from the President) is formalized, if we are furnished with a copy of his directive, I will immediately comply,” said Defensor.
During a Cabinet meeting on Monday President Rodrigo Duterte approved the recommendation of Social Welfare secretary Judy Taguiwalo that contract-of-service, job order and project-based workers in government be given cash gifts also.
“Gusto ko man mabuligan insigida ang aton mga job hires kag aton mga contractuals.
Nahibaluan ko nga waay gid sila iya sang mga year-end benefits and incentives,” said Defensor.
The provincial government has 1, 661 job hires and contract-of-service workers. Most of them work in the 12 provincial government-run hospitals. The province must set aside P3.3 million for their bonuses.
“If there’s a need for the approval of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, which I believe there is, I will ask for a special session,” said Defensor./PN
