BACOLOD City – Vendors of firecrackers and pyrotechnic materials may now ply their trade in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Negros Island Region recommended to its central office the lifting of the work stoppage order against the sale of such products.
Negros officer-in-charge Cyril Ticao claimed the order is “good as lifted” upon recommendation by the local Labor department office.
Earlier DOLE-Negros recommended the lifting of the order against firecracker and pyrotechnic manufacturing in the town.
All 27 retailers in Hinigaran submitted all requirements to DOLE-Negros on Dec. 16.
All eight manufacturers in the town have also submitted compliance reports to the Labor department.
The DOLE issued the work stoppage order to ensure that firecracker makers and retailers comply with occupational safety and health standards./PN
