ILOILO City – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Region 6 has new director.
The former CIDG-6 chief, Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, received a favorable response from the higher police command to his request for transfer to Mindanao for a higher post.
On Jan. 1, Tayaba finally left CIDG-6. He led the group for four months beginning Sept. 1, 2016. The formal turnover of command, however, will be done today.
Tayaba is now the director of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police command. This new assighttp://www.panaynews.net/wp-admin/post-new.php#savenment is a promotion.
Replacing him at CIDG-6 is Senior Superintendent Edgar Cacayan from CIDG Region 7.
“When I left CIDG-7 for Region 6, Cacayan took over my post there. Now he has replaced me once again in Western Visayas,” said Tayaba.
He described Cacayan as a “good and hard-working officer.”
Tayaba headed the Iloilo City Police Office Mobile Group (now the Iloilo City Public Safety Company) from 1999 to 2002.
Married to an Ilongga, he was a product of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA), Class 1993.
“Kahit malayo tayo sa pamilya natin, wala tayong magagawa kasi this is our ladder to our career. We have to sacrifice,” said Tayaba./PN
