MANILA – Sen. Koko Pimentel said he is willing to give up the Senate presidency to any senator who has the support of at least 13 senators.
“If there is a new senator with the support of at least 13, then he should lead the Senate. Ok lang po ‘yun,” said Pimentel.
The senator made the statement a few days after Sen. Joseph Victor Ejercito claimed that there were “misunderstanding” and “tampuhan” in the Senate leadership.
According to Pimentel, he does not expect “100 happiness” from all the members of the Senate.
“Even in a grade school class of 40, everybody does not get 100 in the report card. Ganun naman ‘yun e. Ok na po ‘yun. If it’s a petty matter, let’s not talk about it,” he added.
Ejercito, for his part, believes the disagreements will be resolved in the coming months.
“Meron lang nag-i-isyu but not that big to say they want him out. I don’t think there is that clamor from anybody,” the senator from San Juan City said.
He also said he “quite satisfied” with Pimentel’s leadership./PN
