ILOILO City – The city government has once again opened its annual search for exemplary women in various fields of profession and brought pride to Iloilo City.
The search is part of the celebration of National Women’s Month in March.
The submission of nominations for “The Outstanding Women of Iloilo City (TOWIL) 2017” will be until March 1, according to the Public Information Office.
The awarding ceremony will be held on March 24 at SM City Iloilo.
Accomplished nomination forms and 10-page write-up of the accomplishments of nominees should be submitted to the City Population Office on or before the deadline.
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the recognition is given to “women who have made major impact and contribution and have given pride and honor to Iloilo City.”
The TOWIL award focuses on 15 categories. These are:
* Judicial Service
* Differently-abled Persons
* Protective Services
* Religious Services
* Professional Services
* Academe
* Volunteerism and Community Services
* Culture and Arts
* Math, Science and Technology
* Business
* NGO and Civic Organization
* Media
* Government Services
* Philanthropic Works, and
* Sports.
The criteria cover women empowerment and achievements with 60 percent, leadership skill with 20 percent and commitment with 20 percent.
Announcement of winners will be done 10 days prior to the awarding rites. (PNA)
