
BACOLOD City – Acster Marketing/Bacolod Tay Tung High School clinched three consecutive wins to lead Bracket A in the 17-and-Under category of the 4th Chairman’s Cup Negros held recently at the BTTHS Covered Court here.
The defending champions Tay Tung dominated Talisay Sharks, 72-35, edged University of Negros Occidental, 72-66, and cruised past Negros Youth Basketball Club (NYBC), 87-57.
Colegio San Agustin Bacolod, meanwhile, sits in second place in Bracket A, after posting impressive back-to-back victories against Talisay Sharks, 68-48, and NYBC, 64-45.
St. Sebastian International School (SSIS) leads the Bracket B standings at 2-0, after a narrow 56-52 win over University of St. La Salle, and a fourth-quarter rally to stun C&C Café, 45-40.
The Spartans (1-1) defeated C&C Café, 80-65, but failed to sustain their momentum and lost to USLS, 69-48. UNO-R entered the win column with a 64-45 victory over NYBC.
In the 15-and-Under Division, SP Lineage St. Joseph School-La Salle and Bacolod Acster Mktg/Tay Tung High School both hold 2-0 records to lead their respective brackets.
In Bracket A, SP SJS-LS defeated Nonoy’s, 94-82, and followed up with a dominant 60-30 win over USLS. In Bracket B, Acster/BTTHS overpowered the Talisay Sharks, 81-61, and routed NYBC, 92-38.
Other 15U results include the Bobcats (1-0) defeating the University of Negros Occidental, 64-43, while UNO-R (1-1) bounced back with a 50-41 win over NYBC. Bacolod Trinity Christian School (1-0) outplayed USLS, 60-42, and RGG Farms (1-0) made a strong debut with a 69-49 victory against TSIDKENU./PN
