ILOILO – A police officer was accused of illegally discharging his firearm in his house in Barangay Libot, Calinog town.
An administrative complaint would be filed against Police Staff Sergeant Jayniel Borja, 35. He was assigned at the Anilao police station.
Borja reportedly fired his .9mm pistol around 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 27.
According to Police Captain Dadje Delima, Calinog police chief, an argument between Borja and his wife may have led to the incident.
His wife accused him of having other woman, Delima said.
Borja admitted he was drunk that time.
“It was a couple’s quarrel but he was not supposed to fire his gun. It’s a violation. We should know when to use our firearm,” Delima said.
Borja was disarmed and restricted by his police chief, Police Captain Jersey Besas.
