ANGELICA Panganiban is making her big-screen comeback through the upcoming film “UnMarry” after her four-year hiatus to focus on motherhood.

Film producer Joji Alonso gave a teaser of Panganiban’s movie comeback on Instagram, which is set to be released sometime this year.

“Angelica Panganiban is sooooo back!!! A bold new chapter begins with an ending – the latest offering from Quantum Films and Cineko Films,” read the post’s caption.

The film is written by Chris Martinez and Therese Cayaba, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian.

The film also marks Panganiban’s return to acting in a movie since 2021’s “Love or Money,” in which she starred opposite Coco Martin. More recently, she appeared onstage in “Don’t Meow For Me, Catriona” at the Virgin Labfest.

Joining her in “Unmarry” is Solenn Heussaff, who is also returning to film after a special appearance in “Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre.” The film also stars Zanjoe Marudo and Tom Rodriguez.

The other cast members include Eugene Domingo, Nico Antonio, Donna Cariaga, Johnny Revilla, Jervi Li (KaladKaren), Adrienne Vergara, Zack Sibug, and Shamaine Buencamino.

Panganiban said in a previous interview that the story of “Unmarry,” which revolves around a couple navigating their annulment, was compelling enough to bring her back to the screen.

“I’d rather spend my time with my husband and child than do something I’m only half-hearted about,” she shared. “That’s why I’m very selective with the material. The audience can always tell if your heart isn’t in it.” (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
