KALIBO, Aklan – The suspected drug dealer arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 here recently turned out to have clients in Iloilo City, too.
According Regional Director Paul Ledesma, 32-year-old Saidy Elias used to be a supplier of former barangay captain John Roberto of Tanza, Iloilo City.
Roberto was arrested on March 7 this year.
Elias was arrested just this Saturday. He yielded P300,000-worth of shabu.
According to Ledesma, they learned about Elias from Roberto.
Elias was a native of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. He was busted in a restaurant on Osmeña Avenue here.
PDEA recovered from Elias 10 big plastic sachets of suspected shabu.
“We got his name after Roberto was arrested. We established our surveillance after getting information about his illegal drug trade,” Ledesma said.
The PDEA director said Elias did not personally deliver illegal drugs in Iloilo City; the suspect had someone from Iloilo City pick the stuff up from Aklan./PN
