
AKLAN – Police recovered guns and ammunition during a raid of a house in Barangay Camanci, Batan town around 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9.
Armed with a search warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and issued by the court April 8, 2025, police also arrested alias “Wilbert”, a resident of the aforementioned place.
The recoveries included a caliber .22 rifle with one magazine and four live cartridges, airgun rifle without bolt, and one magazine for caliber .45 firearm.
The said operation was executed by joint operatives of the Batan Municipal Police Station (MPS), Aklan Police Provincial Office’s Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Regional Special Operations Group.
“We commend the effort of our units in the campaign against loose firearms. This was the product of their patience and commitment. Moreover, we highly appreciate the information provided by the community that led to this successful operation,” said Police Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6.
