REIGNING Miss Eco International Alexie Mae Brooks has joined fellow Filipino pageant titleholders in an effort to raise awareness on sustainability in an online initiative dubbed “Eco-Logical Friends.”
And the “friends” that will be helping her in this endeavor are reigning The Miss Philippines-Eco International Gabbi Carballo and 2025 Mister Pilipinas-Eco International Kitt Cortez.
“Get ready for an inspiring journey toward a sustainable future with your Eco-Logical Friends,” Empire Philippines said in a social media post. The entity is behind the Miss Universe Philippines pageant that produced both Brooks and Carballo, and the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide contest where Cortez won his title.
Brooks became the third Filipino woman to bring home the Miss Eco International title when she won the crown in Egypt earlier this year, and Carballo hopes to inherit it in next year’s competition.
Cortez, meanwhile, will represent the country in the inaugural edition of the counterpart male competition Mister Eco International, which will be hosted in the Philippines in January.
The Miss Eco International and the affiliate male competition serve as platforms for spreading environmental awareness on a global scale, and whose winners and participants are expected to champion sustainability.
“Eco-Logical Friends” is a mini-series that aims to spread awareness on sustainable practices around the world through art cards and reels that Brooks, Carballo and Cortez will host.
“Don’t miss their future adventures and join the movement with your Eco-Logical Friends exclusively here on Empire TV!,” the announcement said. (Armin P. Adina © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
