ILOILO – A violent incident involving two sets of siblings has left one dead and another seriously injured in Barangay Walang, Lambunao town on the evening of Oct. 18.

Feliciano Macawili Jr., 28, died after sustaining a fatal wound to the neck. His younger brother, Jimboy Macawili, 21, suffered multiple injuries across his body.

The suspects, identified as Reggie and Melvic Ferrarez, were siblings from the same barangay.

Police Major Joegen Suegay, the Lambunao police chief, said preliminary investigation suggested a conflict between the Macawili brothers and the Ferrarez siblings in the days leading up to the deadly altercation.

The Ferrarez brothers had allegedly threatened the Macawili siblings, warning them to leave the barangay.

While the exact motive remains under investigation, the Lambunao police are considering pressing charges of murder and frustrated murder against the Ferrarez brothers, whose whereabouts are currently unknown./PN
