BACOLOD City – A heated argument turned into a shooting in Barangay Abaca, Cauayan, Negros Occidental, police said.
The 18-year-old Renjie Layan allegedly shot 27-year-old John Rey Delocario using a 12-gauge shotgun around 5 p.m. on Oct. 6.
Officers from the municipal police station said the two men were arguing.
Layan was armed with a gun and two hand grenades.
As this was being written, it was not immediately clear what triggered the argument.
Meanwhile, Rey’s uncle Roy Delocario went to Layan’s shortly after the shooting.
According to the police, Roy tried to throw hand grenades in to the suspect’s house but accidentally tripped and fell on the ground. The grenade exploded. Roy died.
On the other hand, Layan initially fled but later turned himself in to the Cauayan police. He faces charges./PN
