CAPIZ – Another 5-year old kid drowned in the river in Barangay Jebaca, Maayo town on March 31 in the afternoon.
The unnamed male victim, a resident of Barangay East Villaflores of the said town, was with his older family for a birthday celebration in the river, when the incident happened.
The victim allegedly went unnoticed on the deep portion of the river where he drowned.
He was rushed to Bailan District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
To recall, it was only on March 30 when a female 5-year old kid also drowned in the river in Barangay Aglimocon, also in the said town.
The grandfather left the unnamed victim sleeping inside a “duyan” to cook food for their lunch.
However, after a while when the grandfather checked on her, she was already gone. They later found her already lifeless in the river, which is t 30 meters away from their house.
She was rushed to Bailan District Hospital but was also declared dead on arrival./PN
