
ANTIQUE – A drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Butuan, Anini-y town here led to the seizure of P408,000 worth of suspected shabu and the arrest of two suspects.
The Antique Police Provincial Office’s (AnPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit carried out the operation at around 1:32 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, in coordination with Station Drug Enforcement Team of Anini-y Municipal Police Station (MPS), AnPPO’s Provincial Intelligence Unit and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Antique.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Van-van”, 32, a resident of Oton, Iloilo, and tagged as a high-value suspect, and “Bobo”, 31, a street-level target from Anini-y.
Recovered from their possession were five plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 60 grams.
Western Visayas top cop, Brigadier General Jack Wanky, lauded the operatives for the successful and relentless effort against illegal drugs.
“May this arrest serve as a stern warning to those who are still engaging in illegal drugs to cease from illegal activity. If not and if evidence warrants, you will be the subject of our law enforcement operations,” he said.
The suspects were detained at the Anini-y MPS and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
