ANTIQUE — Antiqueños flocked to the Antique Provincial Tourism Building from Thursday to Friday (September 18-19) to submit their requirements for the release of permanent license plates, which will be distributed starting Monday, September 22.
Gov. Paolo Javier earlier called on vehicle owners to visit his office and submit a photocopy of their official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR) along with a valid ID to claim permanent plates for their motorcycles, tricycles, and private cars.
The governor is working closely with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Antique to fast-track the distribution and accommodate as many vehicle owners as possible who are still waiting for their permanent plates.
Among them is 51-year-old tricycle driver Done Silverio, who has been using a temporary plate since 2017 despite complying with LTO requirements.
“Salamat gid eh kon matugruan kita plaka nga regular,” Silverio said, noting that many tricycle drivers share the same situation.
San Jose de Buenavista resident Bunny Joy Talja also expressed gratitude for the initiative. Talja, who bought her motorcycle in 2023, has yet to receive a permanent plate.
“Thank you gid kay Gov. Javier kay oportunidad dya namun nga ma-plakahan ang mga wara pa sang permanenteng plaka nga sarakyan,” she said./PN
