ANTIQUE – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has approved the realignment of P24.5 million from the 2024 Special Trust Fund (STF) to finance priority disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) projects for 2025.
The approval was made through Resolution No. 009-2025 during the council’s 3rd Quarter Meeting held on September 18, 2025, at the Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (ENRO), Binirayan Hills, San Jose, with Gov. Paolo S. Javier presiding as chairperson.
Javier underscored the importance of ensuring that projects are fully implemented to maximize their immediate impact on communities.
“Sa kadya, gusto ko nga full swing ang implementation. Hindi ron nga mag-phase 1, phase 2, or phase 3 hay hindi man magamit dayun. ‘Yan rin ang concern ng mga barangay kapitan nga gaparapit kanakun. Kaya dapat full swing implementation para magamit dayun,” he said.
The governor emphasized that under his administration, projects such as multi-purpose centers must receive adequate funding to guarantee their usability once completed. He also tasked the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) to reassess ongoing Phase 1 and Phase 2 projects to determine their viability for continuation and completion.
The PDRRMC likewise authorized Javier, its four vice chairpersons, and the Office of the Provincial DRRM Officer (OPDRRMO) to review and finalize programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) for inclusion in the 2026 Local DRRM Fund (LDRRMF).
During the meeting, the council also tackled several key matters, including updates on the regional weather forecast, amendments of project titles to align with financial management and audit regulations, presentation of Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) results and the Post-Rehabilitation and Recovery Plan (PRRP) for the southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoons Crising, Emong, and Dante, approval of Concurrence Resolution No. 8, s. 2025 adopting the PDNA and PRRP, and endorsing them to the Provincial Development Council (PDC), adoption of the PDRRMC Plan 2026–2028 and the Provincial Climate Change Action Plan, and presentation of draft priority PPAs for the 2026 LDRRMF
