ANTIQUE – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management council (PDRRMC) of Antique has approved a resolution realigning its 2024 Special Trust Fund worth P24.5 million to finance the implementation of priority DRRM projects this year.
The council passed Resolution No. 09 during its third quarter meeting on September 18, the provincial government said in a statement released afternoon of the same day.
Gov. Paolo Javier, who led the meeting, emphasized the importance of a “full-scale implementation of projects to ensure that communities immediately benefit from them.”
“Sa kadya, gusto ko nga full swing ang implementation. Hindi ron nga mag-phase 1, phase 2, or phase 3 hay hindi man magamit dayun (This time, I want a full-scale implementation. There will be no more phase 1, phase 2, or phase 3),” he said in dialect.
He added that under his administration, projects like multi-purpose centers must be funded sufficiently to guarantee their immediate functionality upon completion.
Javier directed the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) to reassess the status of existing projects currently under Phase 1 and Phase 2.
If found to be still viable and usable, these projects will be continued and completed.
During their third quarter council meeting, the PDRRMC also authorized Javier, the vice chairpersons, and the Office of the PDRRM officer to review and finalize the programs, projects and activities for inclusion in the 2026 local DRRM fund. (PNA)
