Assistance delivered to survivors of Typhoon Carina in Negros, Panay

BACOLOD City – In the aftermath of the recent Typhoon Carina, approximately 3,812 families from Negros Occidental and Panay Island have received essential aid, distributed last week by the Office of the Vice President (OVP).

The relief operations were organized by the OVP-Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office, targeting the hard-hit areas of Valladolid (Negros Occidental), President Roxas (Capiz), and Buruanga (Aklan).

Each affected family received a relief box packed with critical supplies including hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, slippers, expandable water jugs, and other necessities.

The local government units (LGUs) concerned, together with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDO) and Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Offices (LDRRMO), helped in the distribution proces.

Typhoon Carina impacted various parts of Luzon as well, where it triggered severe flooding that trapped thousands of residents, exacerbated by torrential monsoon rains./PN
