Ateneo, San Beda to clash In Passi City this weekend

PASSI City – Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles and San Beda University Red Lions are set for a pair of goodwill matches this weekend at the City of Passi Arena here.

According to Gametime Sports founder Rodolfo Go Villaruz, the exhibition matches between the Blue Eagles and the Red Lions will be open to the public.

The two teams will first face each other at five in the afternoon on Saturday, July 26, before concluding their friendlies with another encounter at four in the afternoon on Sunday, July 27.

Aside from that, the Blue Eagles and the Red Lions are also scheduled to conduct a basketball clinic at 10 in the morning on Sunday, July 27.

“Barring any flight cancellation due to bad weather, the goodwill games of the Ateneo Blue Eagles and San Beda Red Lions on July 26 AND 27, 2025 at the City of Passi Arena will push through,” Gametime Sports wrote.

Both teams will parade Ilonggo players with Ian Espinosa for the Blue Eagles and John Bryan Sajonia for the Red Lions.

Ateneo and San Beda are preparing for their upcoming campaigns in the UAAP Season 88 and NCAA Season 101, respectively, later this year.

The Blue Eagles finished at fifth place in UAAP Season 87, while the Red Lions were unsuccessful in their title retention bid in the NCAA Season 100.

The Blue Eagles-Red Lions friendlies comes just a week after the same city hosted PVL on Tour double header matches last Saturday and Sunday./PN
