KALIBO, Aklan β Ati-Atihan Fashion Festival 2024 is undeniably a high-end, luxury event here on Jan. 6.
For the first time, the old Kalibo bridge, which spans 430 meters, will be the backdrop of the fashion runway show.
The historic bridge, built in the 1930s, overlooks the Aklan River, which gives the audience an unparalleled fashion experience.
It is a far cry from the traditional indoor shows of talented fashion designers of the Fashion & Design Council of Aklan Philippines as they unveil their couture collections in a βclassic backdrop.β
Set in an iconic structure, a range of designers from the likes of Calivo Couture by Benj Dela Rosa, Peter Rian Casidsid, Ryan Salazar Lopez, Phats Dela Cruz Tambong, Cherry Samuya Veric, Jeru Nabayra, and Nico Concepcion will parade their stunning, intricate designs on one of the longest runways in Aklan fashion history.
Plenty of household names, such as Jed Vincent Iguin, Apeh Tayco Del Carmen, John Ernest Tubera, Vaugh Kevin Andrade, and Bon Bon Matorres, will also showcase their awe-inspiring collections, inspired by Ati-Atihan and Pina fabrics.
The old Kalibo bridge will also be brimming, with 96 models of Modele d’aklan taking over the runway as they strut more than 200 collections of designers./PN
