BACOLOD City – A 40-year-old Australian national was stabbed by a suspected thief on Thursday on Araneta Street, Barangay 3 in this city.

Matthew Feuetherdt, who is temporarily residing in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, sustained a stab wound on his right palm.

Police identified the suspect as Jeffry Apdo, 27, a resident of Zone 4, Calong-Calong, Barangay Singcang-Airport.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim caught the suspect trying to steal his wallet and confronted him.

Apdo then stabbed the victim with a bladed weapon. He was immediately arrested./PN
