LIFESAVING PRECISION. A team of neurosurgeons and medical specialists at Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC) in Iloilo City performs a delicate awake brain surgery on a 53-year-old woman on October 14, 2026. The procedure allowed doctors to monitor the patient's neurological functions while removing a tumor located near critical areas of the brain responsible for movement and sensation. The successful operation marks another milestone in WVMC’s growing capability to provide advanced neurosurgical care, sparing patients in Western Visayas the need to seek specialized treatment in Metro Manila or Cebu.
