BACOLOD City – The City Assessor’s Office continues to conduct random tax mapping in the city.
City Assessor Atty. Maphilindo Polvora said tax mapping is needed to update the schedule of market values of real properties in the city.
It is also needed in evaluating new businesses in various subdivisions in Bacolod, he added.
The City Assessor’s Office has coordinated with the Land Tax Division to warn delinquent taxpayers and owners of new business establishments of penalties if they fail to fulfill their tax obligations to the city government.
Such penalties include auctioning of their properties, Polvora stressed.
The Local Government Code of the Philippines gives the city government its “taxing and other revenue-raising powers.”/PN
