Bacolod mulls hiring additional psychometrician

BACOLOD City – This city needs additional psychometrician following the City Council’s meeting with the Local Council for Protection of Children.

The Council’s committee on women, gender, family and childcare said a psychometrician is needed by children and women who are victims of violence.

A psychometrician is a licensed professional who works in the field of psychometrics, which is a branch of psychology that focuses on developing, administering, and interpreting tests that measure personality, aptitude, and intelligence. Psychometricians use data analysis and machine learning to research and improve the testing process, according to indeed.com.

Councilor Celia Flor, the chairman of the said committee, told the media that the City Council had already informed the City Health Office (CHO) to propose for the creation of two additional positions for psychometrician if the city government’s budget can still accommodate such additional personnel service.

At present, the city has only one psychometrician under the CHO and the health office admitted that a lone psychometrician cannot accommodate all persons filing violence cases.

“The victims seek the service of the private institution and it is expensive,” the CHO added./PN
